The Unit Assistant position is designed for anyone over the age of 16, who is looking to get into the healthcare field. This is responsible for assisting with daily activities of residents under the supervision of a nurse on a unit with residents and other staff.
If interested in becoming a CNA, this position allows you to get in work related experience who taking the CNA class. SSC will pay for employees take the CNA class through LTC.
Shifts: 7AM - 1PM or 4PM to 8PM
Essential Functions:
· Transport residents in wheelchairs to/from meals, activities.
· No lifting, but will push wheelchairs.
· Document meal in electronic system
· Make beds, change linen, stock rooms with linens.
· Assist with resident laundry on the unit – wash, dry, fold and put away
· Pass ice waters during the shift. Record fluid intake
· Assist with tray passing at meals, if necessary
· Empty linen and trash cart at the end of your shift and as needed
· Spend 1:1 time with residents, as needed

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
